About Us




Celeste Governanti, who has lived in Hoboken for over a decade, opened Made with Love in December, 2008. She grew up in an Italian-American family, watching her mother cooking and baking, committing the recipes to memory. After spending thirty years traveling the world as a fashion executive, Celeste rediscovered her first love. She returned to her kitchen, baking the kinds of scones, muffins, and cakes that reminded her of the little bakeries she used to visit in France and Italy. Meanwhile, she trained in artisanal bread-making at the French Culinary Institute. Now, she sells her goodies at local farmers’ markets and in her shop, where she also serves weekend brunches and by-reservation-only communal dinners. In her back kitchen, Celeste offers intimate, hands-on cooking and baking classes, where she shares her secrets to making savory and sweet goodies with care—and with love.

Our mission is to provide customers with artisanal organic sweet and savory baked goods.

Dedicated to being our customer’s first and best choice for baked goods, we use the finest organic and fair-trade ingredients including local organic farm products. Starting this fall, our weekend brunch and by-reservation communal dinners aim to bring Jersey City’s colorful, eclectic community together over good food and conversation.
